The Eagle Book of Aircraft

Hang Gliding has come a long way in such a short time, especially when you take into consideration our cross country flying.

You only have to go back to 1953 to see what the 'Sailplane' glider pilots had to achieve to obtain their 'A',  'B' & 'C' Gliding Certificates from the Royal Aero Club .  Not sure when they managed to break away from the hill, or to what further years these rules apllied   ?

This article was taken from the 'Eagle Book of Aircraft' published in 1953 by Hulton press Ltd of London.
