This book is fiction but the trial of the mercenaries is based upon the actual trial of thirteen mercenaries in the African country of Angola which occurred during 1976. The writers brother was a member of the American legal team that was sent to Angola to represent the two Americans at the Trial.

The Peoples Revolutionary Tribunal of Angola will conduct a trial of the mercenaries, but have made it known to the world that the mercenaries will be shot before a firing squad. Robert Maine's journey to Angola to represent the American mercenaries will involve him in political intrigue, assassination, the CIA, the catholic church in Angola, a romantic entanglement and culminates in an exciting twist which has international repercussions.
